Order your own DTF heat transfers by the metre and press your designs onto garments whenever you need them. Every sheet is 31cm wide and printed here in New Zealand. There are no minimums and no setup fees.

What is DTF?

DTF (direct-to-film) transfers are full-colour designs printed onto a special film with an adhesive backing. You heat press them onto your garment, and the design bonds to the fabric. There's no weeding and no layering, and fine detail, gradients and multiple colours all print in one go. DTF works on cotton, polyester and blends, in light and dark colours.

It's ideal for small brands, market sellers, schools, sports clubs, dance studios and anyone who'd rather press on demand than hold stock.

How to build your sheet

1. Choose your sheet size: 31x30cm, 31x50cm, or any length from 1m to 20m (the maximum sheet length). Then open the builder on this page.
2. Upload your designs as PNG files with transparent backgrounds, at 300 DPI if you can.
3. Size each design to the width you want it to print, then arrange them to fill the sheet. Leave about 1cm between designs so they're easy to cut apart.
4. Check your layout, add it to your cart and check out. We'll take it from there.

Sizing tips

Each sheet is 31cm wide, so you can plan your layout like this:

• Left-chest logos (about 9cm wide): 3 across. At around 9cm tall, that's roughly 30 logos per metre.
• Kids prints (about 19cm wide): 1 across, with room for a small logo or two beside each one.
• Adult front or back prints (about 27 to 28cm wide): 1 across, so 3 to 4 per metre depending on height.

Mixing large and small designs is the best way to use every bit of the sheet. If you're unsure, order one metre to test, then scale up.

Pricing

$30 per metre, GST incl., for sheets up to 20 metres. For example, 3 metres is $90, 5 metres is $150, and 10 metres is $300.

Turnaround, shipping and pickup

• Turnaround: printed and dispatched within 24 to 48 hours (working days).
• Shipping: $11 to the North Island or $15 to the South Island, however many metres you order.
• Pickup: collect free from our collection point at Kinetics 360 Studio, 147 Cuba Street, Palmerston North.
• Christmas: delivery cutoffs follow NZ Post and NZ Couriers sending dates. The last day to order for Palmerston North pickup is 23 December. See our Shipping Policy for details.

Pressing your transfers

We recommend a heat press for the longest-lasting results, but lots of our customers have had great success with a household iron. Turn steam off, use a hot setting and press firmly. Then press again with a cotton or canvas cloth over the top to help it set. We always suggest ordering an extra print to test on spare fabric first.

General guide (full instructions come with every order):

• Trim away the colour strip
• 130 to 150°C
• Medium to firm pressure
• 10 to 15 seconds
• Peel hot or cold, whichever you prefer
• Repress for a few seconds with a cotton or canvas cover sheet for extra durability

Always test on a spare garment first.

Before you upload

• Remove backgrounds. We print your file exactly as it's sent, so any white or coloured background will print too.
• Check your artwork. Low-resolution or blurry files will print that way, so please check your files meet our artwork guidelines before uploading.
• Trademarks. We can't print trademarked or watermarked images without written permission from the owner. Please send any approvals with your order. Designs we can't print will be removed and refunded. It's how we make sure artists get paid for their work.
